I am very proud to welcome you to St. Columba’s Comprehensive School and I hope you enjoy our school website where you will discover a sense of our welcoming and inclusive school environment.

Our school ethos is one of mutual respect and inclusion, which creates a calm and positive atmosphere for our students, staff and visitors. Our purpose is to provide our students with a holistic education where each student is recognised and valued as an individual with great potential.

We provide our students with opportunities and support to allow them to discover and develop their interests and talents both in academia and through extra-curricular activities. We take great pride in helping our students to find their voice and their pathway in life as we challenge them to move beyond their comfort zone and become more confident and resilient members of our school community. We want all of our students to leave our school as happy, capable and confident young people, ready for the next step in their lives where they can continue to contribute positively to society, whether they choose further study, apprenticeships or the world of work.

As a DEIS school we recognise the significance and opportunity provided by our high quality education. We believe in developing all aspects of our students so that they can enjoy a sense of accomplishment in school, whether their main interests are academic, sporting, musical, artistic or practical.

We value the strong connections with our local community, which have been well established over generations and allow us to work closely with parents and guardians to support our students every day. We work in partnership with parents and guardians to instil values in our young people that they will carry with them through life. Visitors to our school often complement our students on how polite and courteous they are, which is something we are very proud of and is testament to the positive relationships between our students.

Thank you to all of our students, staff, parents, guardians, our Parents’ Association, our Board of Management and the wider local community, for their continued commitment to our school community.

Brendan O’Mahony.

Principal.
