Good Luck to Riaghan!

Thursday, March 10th, 2011

Good luck to Riaghan O’Callaghan who is representing Donegal in the final of Borders Got Talent tomorrow (Friday 11th) in Belleek. There is a bus for supporters being organised to cheer her along on the night. Riaghan sang two of her own songs  in the Donegal final and is hoping to sing another in tomorrow’s final. Thanks once again to The Donegal Democrat for the story and pictures.

Commiserations to our U14 boys who took part in what most people say was one of the most exciting games of football they have ever seen! Our boys pulled back five points to force extra time and led by four points at the subsequent interval only to be overhauled in the last moments of the game. Nothing should detract from the magnitude of their achievement and the manner in which they conducted themselves on their adventure. Huge credit goes to Mr. Murrin and his sideline team.

Despite the inconsolable nature of such a narrow defeat the behaviourof the large number of students who attended the game to support our team was a source of great encouragement for all who care for the school. The way that our students conducted themselves was a reminder of the wealth of good will and good behaviour that exists in the school. Well done to all, both off and on the pitch, who all played their part in such a memorable day.

There are excellent articles  and pictures in all our local papers!

Vocational School’s lads have it all to again!

Monday, February 28th, 2011

Hard luck to John O’Malley, Brendan McNelis, Mark Gallagher and Nicholas Breslin who saw Donegal robbed of a one point victory over Cork in the Vocational School’s All-Ireland final on Saturday. An error in tabulating the score saw the match being called as a draw by the referee who adjusted his own notes of the scoreline to correspond to an error on the scoreboard. The boys will have it all to do again in a couple of weeks! As soon as we have information on the date and venue it will be posted.

Thanks to Michael O’Donnell for letting us use his photograph of the team on the day they won the County Final.

Mr Murrin and the guys are training hard over the half-term and we wish them well in their preparations for the big day!
